Client case: battery storage secures project timelines for Cordeel Netherlands
When Cordeel realised the local grid couldn’t meet the power demands of one of their sites, they turned to C-battery. Mobile battery containers now provide the necessary power, ensuring that the project stays on schedule.
Grid constraints
Tapware specialist Quooker is partnering with Cordeel Netherlands to build a new, fully automated warehouse in Ridderkerk. The site is in a remote industrial area where (as is common across the Netherlands) grid capacity is limited.
To keep the project on track, additional power was essential. While a heavy-duty diesel generator was an option, Cordeel made the conscious choice to opt for a sustainable energy solution instead.

Fast, quiet, and sustainable
As a Cordeel Group subsidiary, C-battery was the logical partner for this project. We deployed two mobile 10-foot containers, each delivering a 300 kWh storage capacity and a rated power output of 100 kW.
Equipped with microgrid functionality, these containers create an autonomous network that stores and distributes energy. At the input, the battery is isolated from the existing grid. Powered by C-battery IQ, the system manages continuous trickle-charging while eliminating the risk of backfeed into the mains. On the output side, the integrated inverter and transformer work in tandem to establish a new, high-capacity local grid.

Although the grid connection is limited to 3×80 amps, the dual container microgrid now delivers a steady 3×294 amps (with peaks reaching up to 3×440 amps). Best of all, the battery solution allowed Cordeel Netherlands to start the works at once. With a simple plug-and-play setup, the entire system was up and running in under an hour.

Summary: the C-battery solution
- Capacity: the battery provides the required power despite limited grid capacity.
- Time-saving: the plug-and-play setup was operational in under an hour.
- Sustainable: quieter, more responsive, and more sustainable than a traditional diesel generator.
